Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced a significant expansion of its international network, with plans to purchase 42 new jets from Airbus and Boeing. The European manufacturer Airbus has secured the larger share of this multibillion-dollar deal, with JAL set to acquire 21 Airbus A350-900s and 11 A321neos. Additionally, the airline will bolster its fleet with 10 Boeing 787 widebody jets, marking a departure from its previous exclusive reliance on Boeing for single-aisle aircraft.
