Founded in 1963, Sylt Air GmbH is a renowned German airline based in Sylt-Ost, Tinnum, Germany. Operating primarily from its main base at Sylt Airport, the airline specializes in chartered and scheduled flights. Over the years, Sylt Air has seen ownership changes and hosted a number of celebrities on its scheduled flights from Hamburg, reflecting its prestigious stature in the regional airline sector. Today, under the ownership of Sylt-Air GmbH, it remains a trusted name in German aviation.


While its primary operations focus on summer seasonal scheduled flights between Sylt Airport and Hamburg Airport, Sylt Air also offers scenic flights around the picturesque Sylt and the Frisian Islands. Apart from these, the airline provides other charter services tailored to its clients’ needs. In the summer of 2023, Sylt Air is set to introduce a new route, connecting Sylt to Dortmund, powered by their newly acquired Cessna Caravan turboprop plane.


As of November 2020, the Sylt Air fleet comprises a range of aircraft optimized for both chartered and scheduled services. The fleet includes the Cessna 150, Cessna 182, Cessna 404, Cessna 421, Cessna 525A CitationJet CJ2+, and the Partenavia P68B, with a total fleet size of 10 aircraft. Former aircraft under the Friesenflug banner also included models like the Cessna 182, Cessna 172, Cessna 207, and Piper Seneca.
