Hi Fly Malta is a charter airline based in Malta, operating as a subsidiary of the Portuguese charter airline Hi Fly. Established in early 2013, it started with an Airbus A340-600 formerly operated by Virgin Atlantic. The airline holds air operator certificates from ANAC of Portugal and TM-CAD of Malta, both members of the European Union and EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency).
Hi Fly Malta does not have scheduled destinations. Its aircraft are utilized primarily for charter and ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) services. Interestingly, one of its planes was to be reconfigured for Swiss Space Systems before its liquidation, retaining a unique black livery with the Swiss Space Systems logo on the stabilizer until its retirement.
As of May 2023, Hi Fly Malta’s fleet includes Airbus A319-100, Airbus A330-200, Airbus A330-300, Airbus A330-900, and Airbus A340-300 aircraft. These planes are known for their long-haul capabilities and have varied passenger capacities, offering a range of seating configurations to cater to different charter needs.
