Dana Air

Up

Dana Air, founded in 2008, is a prominent Nigerian airline headquartered in Ikeja, Lagos. With its base at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, the airline has faced challenges in its history, including operational suspensions. However, its resilience and commitment to safety have seen it recommence operations and even pioneer innovations like the domestic airline codeshare agreement with Ibom Air in May 2021. Facing various financial challenges in 2022, Dana Air’s licenses were temporarily suspended, but the airline was back in the skies by November 2022 after successfully passing NCAA audits.

Flights

As of February 2021, Dana Air operates flights to six major destinations within Nigeria: Abuja, Enugu, Lagos (its base), Owerri, Port Harcourt, and Uyo. These routes connect important economic and administrative hubs in the country, catering to both business and leisure travelers.

Airplanes

Dana Air boasts a fleet of eight aircraft as of July 2022. This includes two Boeing 737-300s, originally from Southwest Airlines, one McDonnell Douglas MD-82, and five McDonnell Douglas MD-83s. These aircraft are tailored for domestic routes, offering comfort and efficiency to passengers.
