Alliance Air, previously known as Air India Regional, is a subsidiary of AI Assets Holding Ltd. (AIAHL), a special purpose vehicle formed by the Indian government after the disinvestment of Air India Limited. Established in April 1996, Alliance Air operates predominantly domestic routes as part of India’s Regional Connectivity Scheme, providing crucial connections between smaller towns and larger cities.

Alliance Air serves an extensive network of 75 domestic destinations across India from its hubs in Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Furthermore, it began operating its first international flight from Chennai to Jaffna in November 2019. The airline plays an essential role in connecting India’s smaller cities to major urban centres, thus contributing to the country’s aviation infrastructure.

Alliance Air has a diverse fleet of aircraft, including the Boeing 737 and the Dornier 228, an Indian-made aircraft modified for commercial operations.
